Subject:japanese signature translation

I am trying to get some help with the translation of what I believe to be the signature on an artwork. It is a raised screen or mesh with some type of lacquer or shellac type of painted design. I have included a picture of the whole artwork. Any help with artist or type of work this is would be appreciated. Thanks
