Posted By: Bill H Tue, Apr 14, 2015 The mark, shown rotated 90 degrees to the right of reading position, says "Made by/at Shimamura" (島村製 - Shimamura Sei). The decoration is in the Nippon style, but the pot possibly was made after "Nippon" was supplanted by "Made in Japan" around 1920, by which time exports marked with the latter notice on paper labels were common. |
