Subject:Tang Equestrian Figures at March 2015 Hindman Auction Lot 274
Posted By: Peter Dyste Mon, Apr 20, 2015 IP: 67.220.28.79

Did anyone here happen to inspect, attend the auction or receive a condition report for these?
I would really appreciate any information that could be provided. Thanks

I dunno... tang female equestrian figures? And a pair no less. I would proceed with great caution. Not sure I trust the TL claim either. All Oxford TL claims that I've ever come across include the name of the world-famous organization "Oxford Authentication", plus, crucially the ID number of the specific test in question. See this example: http://bid.igavelauctions.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&auction_uid1=3825570

Good point! It's very important to double check that the certificate itself is actually genuine, since these can be faked quite easily. It's also a part of their service, I belive.

But the certificate in question is from 1987. They might have changed their name since then?
Also the figures are not really that impressive in my opinion, even though it's a pair.

I'm awaiting delivery of this sancai jar. Haven't had the opportunity to handle it yet, but here the work of art speak for itself, so I'm taking the chance. Others would perhaps say it's too good to be true?

Picked up the jar a while ago. It looks and feels like the real thing. Next one awaiting arrival is a potential Ming mark and period piece. Not a super high value one though.
