Subject:Looking to identify a painting I saw
Posted By: Shane Wed, Apr 29, 2015 IP: 68.57.87.144

Hi, I would like to find someone who is fairly knowledgeable on asian art who can help me identify a painting that I saw in a hotel in Thailand. I don't have a picture of the painting, only a mental image from a few years ago.

The painting was of an asian woman looking into a mirror, I think, sitting on a green block covered with some type of fabric. It looked like she may have been a Japanese geisha due the style of clothing she was wearing. I think the painting may have been meant to be sexual as the woman was taking off several layers of clothing, each layer with a different color. Behind the woman was what looked to be like a door made of green with images flowing out the backside of the door.

At the time, I remembering thinking the green block and the door behind the woman may have been jade or something representing the mind or imagination. This about all I remember about the painting. I hope that someone will read this and help me out.
