Subject:Umamaheshwara (Indian Bronze) - Seeking additional information
Posted By: Sridhar Wed, Apr 29, 2015 IP: 107.199.204.22

Hi,

The dealer told me this piece is from Mysore, Karnataka. It is more brass than bronze. It is about 7in/17.5cms high. It is Umamaheswara. The intriguing aspect of it is the face of Shiva, with his tongue out, more like Lakshminarasimha. Also the way Shiva is holding Uma's breast. That is more common in North Indian piece. Refer the third photo. Any information is welcome.

Thanks...Sridhar
