Subject:Antique Chinese Marked Bronze Buddha Statue?
Posted By: Abraham Fri, May 08, 2015 IP: 107.77.97.113

Hello All,
I have a smaller marked Buddha statue that I'm unable to translate. I'm also unfamiliar with metal materials used at the time, but assume it's Bronze. It's marked on the front with "Da" as the first character but having difficulty with the others. If you could please help in any way, I would appreciate it.

your picture links are broken, but the vast majority of marked bronzes (particularly later and imitation pieces) are cast with a Xuande reign mark, so yours might look (in standard script) something like:

年 宣 大
製 德 明
