Subject:Karmapa bronze statue?
Posted By: Nicolas_Vietnam Tue, May 19, 2015 IP: 181.164.228.220

Dear Forum readers,

I have in my collection a small gilt-bronze statue (heigt 13cm) of what I think could be a Karmapa statue, from Tibet and quite old...

Those representations of high lineage monks seated on cushions used to be done when the monk was still alive, and genuine ones used to contain some small relics of the monk.

I don't pretend to have a statue containing relics of a Karmapa, however the statue contains something, that can be heard when moving it. The statue will keep its mistery for a while because I don't plan to bring it to the radiologist ;)

However if anybody could help confirm or invalidate my assumption, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Nicolas
