This looks to be Chinese and has dark reddish brown clay as seen on base foot.The vase measures 5.5 inches tall and across foot/base measures 3 inches.
This also has a hole pressed into the underside of handles or elephant head where you can see the dark brown clay under the glaze.
The glaze has a slippery silky smooth feel to it.
I've had this over 20 years and it was bought used back then. What age might this be? I have not found any vases with this angled design or octagonal edges.

I have seen this design before, from Kangxi - Qianlong, if I remember correctly. The glaze is guan type.

There should be one with ge-type glaze at the National Palace Museum, Taipei, also.

Thanks for the information and links.So this could be from 1600's to 1700's from the design and glaze ?I had a large Flambe glaze vase that was unmarked and foot looked really new,so I figured it was reproduction or just a new vase. Would new Chinese pottery and porcelain be unmarked ever today? I was thinking maybe some just use a sticker on base and can be removed easily.
