Subject:Identifying two, over a hundred years old oriental vases - in the family since the '20s
Posted By: Akos Mon, Jun 22, 2015 IP: 176.63.74.112 It's been in the family for almost a 100 years now, but still no one managed to find out about the origins of them. There are some sort of characters on the bottom of one, which I attached as the first photo. On the second one of the vases can be seen. They are ceramics and hand painted. |

Posted By: Shawn Sun, Jul 05, 2015 Likely new in the 1920s, Japanese exports with enameled decoration. Sometimes this is called moriage, but moriage is matte and made with slip clay. Still, people often call this moriage regardless. |
