Subject:Help Identify Inherited Tea Set
Posted By: Cassandra Sun, Jul 05, 2015 IP: 174.71.66.206

Hello! My uncle recently passed away and as his only niece/ heir, I inherited his massive collection he's accumulated over many years. I don't know much about china and I'm unsure if this tea set has any value. If you have any information on this set, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you time. Cassandra

Your tea set was made for export around the 3rd quarter of the 20th century at Jingdezhen, the principal porcelain-making center in China. When made, it could be purchased from outlets in Hong Kong for US$50 or less. My experience is that the value on such modern tea sets hasn't increased much if at all. However, it's still a well made and attractive means of serving tea.

Best regards,

Bill H.
