Subject:Rose medallion bowl age and origin
Posted By: Charles Wed, Jul 22, 2015 IP: 70.16.208.17 This is a rose medallion bowl I found recently. It is 9-3/4" across and doesn't have much wear. The only mark is the one shown which I think is upside down in the picture. There is a porcelain bowl with a lot of gilding and raised enamel, and it is all hand done, but it is not all that carefully. If you can read the mark and offer a suggestion on its age or origin it would be appreciated. Thank You |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Jul 25, 2015 The mark, shown upside down, reads from the top right as "Product of Jiangxi Province" (Jiangxi Chupin). I'd guess it might have been made between about 1930 to the early 1950's, with a time-out for World War II. |
