Subject:Asian wood cut
Posted By: Beth Mon, Aug 10, 2015 IP: 24.208.10.86

I would like some information on this wood cut.
It appears to be "the Cock Fight" by Kitao Shigemosa in 1770. Colors are faded and paper is very fragile. I would appreciate knowing what the writing on this piece means. I would also like to know where I could get an appraisal of it and if it's even worth seeking that out.

Shigemasa, appear to be original "book plates", trimmed and pages joined. Original but not a lot of value. Book complete is valuable. Appears to be women from the "pleasure quarter". Just my opinion hope this helps.
