Subject:Bamboo wrist rest? Assist to identify any information
Posted By: Vicky Sat, Aug 15, 2015 IP: 5.69.224.88

Hi, Can anyone tell me anything about my item please? I think it is a bamboo wrist rest but this is just a guess. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

The form seems to me to be more like a shoe horn, which item was made in great numbers by cottage industries all over Asia before and after World War II. The phoenix (shown with pomegranate) on this one is depicted in a manner I associate more with the Japanese style, but also might indicate the piece was made on Taiwan, which was a Japanese colony from the end of the 19th century until the end of WWII.

Best regards,

Bill H.

A bookworm also whispered in my ear that it may be a page-turner.

Best regards,
