Posted By: Jim Sun, Aug 16, 2015 No expert, but I believe this is shoushan stone. There are a number of examples online. While searching for a shoushan color match I ran across the interesting Ebay Qing jade auction, now closed. I have a nearly identical seal which I bought about 25 years ago for $10.. Mine are soapstone with a specific gravity of 2.76. The bases are flat, a seal having never been carved. Regards, Jim |

Subject:Changhua Heliotrope
Posted By: beadiste Mon, Aug 17, 2015 The stone looked to me like some variety of cinnabar ore, so I did a quick Google search, and found "Changhua Heliotrope." |
