Subject:Is this set a Zitan Furniture
Posted By: yc Thu, Aug 20, 2015 IP: 1.9.102.122

Hi, could anyone help me to identify whether this set of furniture is ZItan wood?

As you can see from the picture this is the original wood without lacquer.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Hi, what wood do you think this is?

I hear you. It's annoying when someone just tells you what something is not, but doesn't tell you what it is. This chair is most likely made of Dalbergia melanoxylon. This is an African hardwood that was imported in large quantities to China during the late 19th century. People call it blackwood; zhangshimu; and often call it hongmu. It is a zitan generic, but no, sorry. It is not zitan.
