Subject:Blue Turquoise Geisha - Age?
Posted By: thyme Tue, Aug 25, 2015 IP: 184.12.18.182

These have several 'China' markings on bottom including impressed and red mark.

Can anyone tell me the approximate age of these five pieces?

Do the geisha ladies represent anything? Two are a little taller than the others, but I assume they are from the same set.

If you do internet search you will find "geisha" were/are Japanese courtesans and how normally portrayed.

Chinese-made figurines not usually portray women before last half 20th century. Yours may be parts of sets for tourists, or even presents for young scholars, but hard to tell intended purpose.

Thank you for your information! I apologize for my ignorance on geisha definition. Thank you for clarifying.
