Subject:Nippon

I found this plate years ago at a market. There appears to be an artist stamp on the plate besides the Nippon mark. Could anyone decipher this for me please. Thanks you.

This mark is translated at gotheborg.com as "Yamatoku", the Japanese "Mountain Virtue" kiln. Your dish looks like it may date to the late Meiji to Taisho period, or about 1900-1925, which indeed includes the "Nippon" era.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Dear Buddy,
I can't decipher the mark, but I can tell you your plate is not very old because of the Nippon mark(not older than 50 years).
Best regards,
Rémy
