Subject:large watercolor help needed
Posted By: Lori Thu, Nov 05, 2015 IP: 173.70.84.6

This is either a watercolor or woodblock (hard for me to distinguish these many times) although I believe it is a watercolor.
It measures about 3 feet by 2 feet and has numerous chop marks.
I will have to upload the various marks within several postings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated; I don't know whether this is "hotel" art or if it is something of value.

this is "hotel art", style of Fan Zeng, with a bunch of fake imperial seal marks.

I do not read Chinese signatures to tell you what the signature and writing says. However, the style of the painting is that of the artist Fan Zeng (born 1938).

If genuine, his paintings are quite popular. I'm sure in time one of the experts that can read Chinese will advise just exactly what the painting says.

Meantime, to determine if it is a painting or woodblock print, you will need to post much clearer close up photos.

Best,
Tim
