Subject:Help needed to Identify Chinese Censer / Japanese Koro
Posted By: Steve D Tue, Nov 10, 2015 IP: 86.172.21.144

Hi, Can someone please help me to identify this item. Ive looked all over the net and through all our reference books and can find nothing quite like it. I believe it to be bronze Incense Burner (but we may be wrong). It has a dragon on each handle. They are unusual in that they look as if they have a trunk for a nose. Also the dragons have 5 toes, and the base of the item has 3 x five toed feet. Very fine pierced work with Dragons depicted to the sides. No makers marks at all that I can find. Is it Chinese? Is it a Incense Burner? Any idea of age? It measures approx 12" tall and 10" wide (dragon to dragon. It weighs 1.5Kg. Any and all help appreciated.
