I have an old painting bought in china during the 1920-1940s and Im not able to identify the type of craftmanship used and also what kind of painting/texture this is. Is it art or is it just an amateur local painting with low value. It seem like it is made by some kind og merged threads in a kind of 3d visuality

This is not a painting, it's an image created from the sewing, though perhaps some color has been added to some parts of the picture, it's hard to tell from your pictures. It's also Japanese, not Chinese.

This is embroidery, not a painting. The underlying fabric may have been printed with the scene to be stitched, and instructions about type of stitch to be used.

Probably created not long before acquired.
