Subject:Japanese Satsuma Vase Identification Help Please
Posted By: John Thu, Nov 12, 2015 IP: 69.126.250.62 Can anyone help me with identifying the picture Japanese Satsuma vase. I tried researching the seal on the base, (Being a novice)am I correct in stating it says "Dai Nippon Satsuma Hodota". Am I correct? If so or not any help in identifying the piece re: artist, seal, age etc. would be greatly appreciated. |

Hodota would be three characters 保土田, whereas Ryuzan is two, 龍山. Hang in there with your efforts to read this stuff. The characters in this mark are somewhat like the proverbial doctor's handwriting. |
