Subject:Question re Japanese Ivory Guanyin Red Seal Mark
Posted By: Jim Wed, Nov 25, 2015 IP: 199.59.106.195 Hi. I was just wondering if anyone recognizes this artist or can read the name? I believe it is a Japanese ivory Guanyin. Thank you. |

Posted By: Jim Mon, Nov 30, 2015 There is a Meiji period artist with this name who is Japanese. I believe this to be his work. Also, I have shown the piece to an ivory specialist who has told me that it is probably 75-100 years old as it has age cracks and toning, both of which are very difficult to replicate. But thank you for your opinion. |
