Hi Ginny,
While it is difficult to see the craftsmanship in your photos, I have a vase which looks as though it could have come from the same workshop: http://www.asianart.com/phpforum/index.php?method=detailAll&Id=24906 .
(large format photos are no longer available at Webshots)
I bought mine in the 1990's, but I think it dates from the 1960's, so that would probably be a feasible date range for yours as well.
While the signature does not match the signature on my vase (which I never got translated), it seems to have been applied in a similar format.
Most modern vases of this crane and cloud design have stamped marks which are unlike these two signatures which appear to be hand painted.
This type of vase is still produced today, sold in many Asian department stores or Asian art wholesale houses, and are often found in museum gift shops. It appears to me as though the base of your vase has been modified to look older than it is, there are spots showing from beneath the dirty layer which appear to be similar to the color of the base of my vase.
These are handsome vases often found in estate sales, and I think I paid twenty dollars for mine in a small antique shop, probably half what they would cost in a gift shop.
Cheers
Gman
