Subject:Jade figure with wooden stand Marked

I wonder if anyone can help me, just I bought magnificent jade carved figure. after washing I found signature at the bottom.I would appreciate any advice, I believe it's chinese.
I wonder type of stone and who did it?

Do not believe it was made of real jade, possibly some types of shousan stone. I believe it could be easily scratched, just like those characters there, did not really mean a lot.

Super is right and I think those characters scratched on the base are in fact 寿山 (Shou Shan). You can do your own research on it.

I think it is a nice sculpture and it is actually rather meaningful, with fish and children representing "abundance".

By the way, the stone looks rather dry. To maintain it, wash it under running water and dry it well, then apply some olive oil or baby oil on it.
