Subject:Monk (Burmese???) Wall Hanging; Very Heavy

Can anyone help identify this piece? It's been in my family for years and I cannot find anything similar on the web.

Measures 22" x 14" and is very heavy. I assume it is a Burmese monk, but not sure the origin/maker, or if I can (or should) place this outside in the garden since I do not know it's value.

Thoughts on the above?

What's it made of? metal? wood? ceramic?
What's the back look like?
Is there any writing anywhere on it?
