Subject:Meizan mark ???
Posted By: Martin Michels Mon, Apr 11, 2016 IP: 84.26.216.123

Hi,

I found a bowl with this Meizan mark on the internet, at least I think it's Meizan. On the right a part of the decoration of the bowl being a boy with a scroll in which: Dai Nippon Meizan ??. My question is: is the 5th character the "zan" character? If so, what is the 6th character? Or is the 6th character the "zan" character and in that case, which name is on the left side of the scroll?
On the bottom under the bowl are 2 characters, xxxzan or xxxyama. Anyone an idea which name it is and what the 1st character looks like exactly?
Thanks in advance.
Martin

Bottom mark (2 characters) 明山

Writing on scroll (6 characters) 大日本 (Great Japan - the first character has been incorrectly written)

明山造 made by Meizan.
