Seeking any info about a Chinese Dagger or Short Sword I have. It's around one foot long and has some sort of design on the blade. Thank you.

If this is genuine, you have a very interesting item in your hands.I would suggest going to you nearest Jade specialist, or Museum for advise. This seems to be a Chinese dagger.
What bothers me is all that dirt.

I washed it off. It's not really dirt. Some sort of cement like hard crust. I'm in NJ. I'll have to call some museums. I wonder if there may be an expert at a university like Rutgers Princeton. Good advice. Thanks!

better pictures of blade surface, handle and middle part necessary to tell you anything definitive about your dagger, but it doesn't look good at all.
