Subject:Appreciate help identifying this mark

Posted By: Bill H Tue, Apr 19, 2016 The mark reads "Hichozan Fukagawa Tsukuru", which I believe could be translated as "By Hichozan for Fukagawa", as Hichozan was a name associated with a studio that enameled porcelains for Fukagawa at the Mikawachi kilns during the Meiji period (1868-1912). Your vase is quite high quality export ware for the period. Would look nice on my unmarked stand shown below with another Fukagawa vase on it. I believe the stand also may be a Fukagawa product. |
