Subject:ID Japanese Artist: Ukiyo-E watercolor sketch
Posted By: S Mon, Apr 25, 2016 IP: 64.132.0.201

I snapped a picture of this sketch from a book (I was thinking it was one of the Hiroshige sketchbooks) but now I can't remember or figure who had done it.

I recall that it was with a handful of other gestural images of people.

much more recent than Hokusai, no earlier than second half 20th century, but unfortunately I can't identify the artist. the text seems irrelevant.

The hiragana characters you've posted read "po ke sa wo" - which means nothing to me. Maybe if you posted the entire script?
