Subject:Tea Jar? Age and Origin?

I would like to know the age and origin of this lovely tea piece. I believe it held tea but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I assume it's not marked, but I think it's English Stoneware, probably from Mason's around 1840-1860. I have a similar piece - marked - see photo.
