I've hit a wall with my research of my family's mascot. Things I know or believe:

1. Mottled, celadon jade
2. Closely resembles Ming funerary stone sculptures of Xiezhi, including the ones at the 13 Tombs of the Ming in Beijing (picture attached).
3. About 60lbs and 12 inches tall. Hard and cool to the touch.
4. Carved by "hand".
5. Single horn with two peaks, hooves, tail, penis.

I'm not seeking to find the value, but the history of this object. Was it buried with someone? Did it sit in a courtroom during the Ming Dynasty? Is it just a knockoff?

Any insight would be amazing. Interestingly, all the experts I've tried to contact regarding the sculpture are retired or passed away. Maybe this field of funerary sculpture is no longer sexy?

Possibly jadeite. The carving quality is poor and the stone has been heavily treated and had dirt and dye rubbed into the grooves to give the appearance of age. Probably 1980s or newer. If jadeite, there may be some value due to the large size.
