Subject:Identification and information about blue and white porcelain bowl
Posted By: HHuey Tue, May 10, 2016 IP: 24.163.98.235

A family member has been in possession of this bowl for at least 20 years. I has a typed paper label on it that it is Imari and over 120 years old. I would love to know any information about it and if it is of significant value enough to prompt insuring it. It weighs about 11 ounces. The dimensions are slightly less than 6 inches in diameter across the top and 3.5 inch base diameter. The height from base to top rim is just under 2 inches.

Japanese, circa late Meiji-Taisho era (around 1900-1925), apocryphal Chinese Ming Dynasty mark of "Made during the Chenghua Reign".

Best regards,

Bill H.

In-focus still photos are needed. One should be a straight-on side view to show total profile of dish.

Photos should not have the object on that mottled blue-white thing that confuses what is part of the dish and what is not. A plain white background would be best.
