The website description, 'Fukagawa Sei' (Made by Fukagawa) mark, Koransha orchid logo and circa 1900 (late Meiji) dating looks to be in the ballpark. If anything it might be on the earlier side of 1900.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Bill thank you for your response to my question. And glad to be on the right track. Now I'm trying to find out about the mounts - where made (French?) and by whom ('H's stamped on the underside).
If you have any knowledge about this I would love to hear.
Thank you again
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

The signature is displayed upside down, so turn it 180 degrees and you see on top the Koransha logo (red orchid mark) and the signature spelling Fukagawa 深川 Sei 製 (Made by Fukagawa).
Koransha was founded in 1875. so this piece could be anywhere from 1875 till 1930.
Regards
Martin

Dear Martin
Thank you for your reply. Its hard to find many examples of Imari ware with mounts! But I'm on the hunt to discover more. Where were they made (present thoughts are France) and by whom (stamped 'H'). If you have any suggestions I'd be grateful to hear.
Again thank you for your help
Elizabeth

I believe that this is Koransha (Secented Orchid Company), founded by one of the Fukugawa family.

From http://www.gotheborg.com/~gothebor/marks/fukagawa.shtml (this link also has photos of various Fukugawa/Koransha marks (which you show upside down):
"in Meiji 8th (1875) the porcelain potter and business man Ezaiemon Fukagawa (1833-1889), Fukaumi Suminosuke & his brother Takeji, Tsuji Katsuzo and Tezuka Kamenosuke founded a company named Scented Orchid Company or 'Koransha' and started to produce porcelain for export to Europe and America. In 1879, Fukaumi and other members left the company and Koransha was reestablished by Eizaemon alone. After his death in 1889, his oldest son, Yotaro succeeded the company while his second son, Fukagawa Chuji started the Fukagawa Porcelain Company. The orchid mark seems to have been used into modern times."
