Posted By: DavidW Wed, May 18, 2016 IP: 66.211.124.145 According to literature nobody has ever found the QingMing festival scroll executed by Qiu Ying the important Ming Dynasty artist. This scroll left China in 1949 by an OSS agent working there..Any input would be great. Some frames of the scroll shown and the sig..also the scroll is narrow about 10 inches and image about 17.5 ft long.. |

Posted By: DavidW Fri, May 20, 2016 Hi, thanks for the input..the link you sent is to most likely late 18th century scroll because of the wide format. 12 inches or 30.5 cm. |

Posted By: DavidW Fri, May 20, 2016 Hi, here is the link to the PhD dissertation by Su-Chen Chang on the Qingming scroll. I also ran a Radiocarbon on the residue of the Gilt title on the outside of the scroll..The centerline date was 1808 AD. This was most likely the 2nd silking or restoration of the scroll..I ran x-ray analysis of the paints and they are consistent with Ming Dynasty paint composition. The painting is Ming dynasty and paint are toxic metal compounds. |

Posted By: DavidW Mon, May 23, 2016 According to the older and current literature..this is based on MS or PhD thesis more or less People in China and US studying...the Ming Artist Qiu Ying was more or less a regular joe Genius because he didn't have any schooling in art..The conclusion was by aforesaid was Qiu's work copied all forms and styles of art..and thus, therefore nobody has found key indicator..fingerprint of his work..I found his unique anomaly..and is in this painting |
