Hi
I have this netsuke of a mouse sitting on a fruit, the quality is high and it looks early, i wanted to know if someone can help me translating the signature on this netsuke, and maybe any idea on the age.

thank you all very much

The signature reads "Hidemasa". I cannot say if this is by Hidemasa I who was active in the early 19th c, but your piece looks like an authentic old netsuke.

You can try to post it here for further information:
http://forums.netsuke.org/ Tell them what you already know and maybe they have an opinion on the age of this piece.

The signature reads 秀正, 'Hidemasa', followed by a kakihan.

Guy.
