Subject:Why does the yellow ground on my cloisonne vases look dingy?
Posted By: JayC Sat, Jun 18, 2016 IP: 174.29.215.171

I bought these two, small, cloisonne vases a while back because I liked the vibrant black and purple dragons. I thought washing them would make the yellow ground more vibrant but, of course, it didn't. The background looks dingy. I know they are a bit worse for wear...but I like them and I would like them even more if the yellow was brighter! I thought, for a while, that maybe they were in a fire and what looks like fine dust particles in the ground could have been caused by smoke (because the white is a bit off to), but I have no idea. Any suggestions?
