Subject:Help identifying jade figurine
Posted By: Dawn Bowen Sat, Jun 18, 2016 IP: 104.218.68.203 Hello - I need some help identifying this piece. It is approximately 8 inches wide and 5 inches tall. It is quite heavy, weighing approx 7 pounds. I am wondering if it is nephrite, as it is quite dense and somewhat translucent here and there on the ears, tail, etc. Is this a Pi Xiu? It has clawed feet and a single horn or antler on its head. There is an artist's mark on one foot. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Posted By: Bokaba Wed, Jun 22, 2016 Very unlikely it is jade, but a softer stone that appears to be treated to appear older. Probably some time of serpentine or bowenite. Recently manufactured. |
