Subject:Circa 3rd Quarter 20th Century Japanese Vase
Posted By: Bill H Fri, Jul 15, 2016 IP: 74.178.202.254

Wonder if anyone can read the mark on this Japanese vase, with a pattern that reminds me of Gold Imari and from around the same period of the 3rd quarter of the 20th century. It was made for an American chain of stores specializing in jewelry and decorative arts, Luria & Son, which was founded in Florida in 1961 and had 53 outlets in the USA at its peak. The firm went into bankruptcy and was liquidated in 1998.

I've begun to wonder if this marking is one of those Japanese logos, which like well-behaved children, are meant to be seen and not heard.

Thanks,

Bill H.
