Posted By: Bill H Tue, Aug 09, 2016 The mark reads right to left as "Made during the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty" (Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi) and is unusual for the mark being on the side of the vase instead of two stacks of three characters each on the bottom. The decorative theme is the "Eight Immortals on the Sea". Based on what can be seen, some of the enamels are tinged in tones that were common in the second quarter of the 20th century, and the painting style fits the same period. However, if more close-up details are revealed, including of the foot, it might reveal the vase to be later. |
