Subject:Unknown Artist Signature
Posted By: TheHippy Tue, Aug 16, 2016 IP: 97.44.128.69 I was hoping that somebody could tell me a little bit about this piece of porcelain. As best I can tell, it is an orphaned saucer. Many thanks... |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Aug 18, 2016 The info at the Japanese-language link below seems to indicate this mark belongs to Yokohama Nikko-made porcelain either painted by someone with the surname Takayama (高山画 - Takayama ga), or possibly painted at the famous mountain scenic place called Takayama in Gifu Prefecture. Perhaps a Japanese speaker in our midst knows the difference. |

Posted By: Guy Fri, Aug 19, 2016 IMO, this is a Kutani piece with a typical 'kachoga' (birds & flowers) decoration signed 髙山画 ((Kôzan ga' or 'painted by Kôzan'), Meiji period. |
