We were gifted these vases a very long time ago and we are trying to discover what they are and where they originated

These would appear to be vintage products of a porcelain ornamentation factory or factories in Hong Kong or Macao. The apocryphal mark says "Made during the Guangxu Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty". Similar items originally were sold in reputable decorator shops, but unlike Chinese antiques, they haven't appreciated much in recent years.
