Subject:Is this by Komori Shinobu?
Posted By: Stuart Jeffcoat Sun, Aug 28, 2016 IP: 125.237.146.238 Hi. I think that this vase might be by Komori Shinobu but am unsure. It might be a piece that he made following his study trip to China in the early 1900s. Can anyone help re who this might be by - and when it was likely made? It has 20 sides to it - yip, 20! Thanks in advance. |

Posted By: Stuart Jeffcoat Tue, Aug 30, 2016 Thanks Martin - very much appreciated. I thought that this might be the case. However it seems very difficult to find much of his work and I have never seen any go through the auction houses etc. It seems that he is quite famous and yet there seems to be so little of his work about. Also I would love to know when that kiln was in operation. Have a nice day. Cheers, Stu |
