Subject:Need help identifying painting
Posted By: Ave Tue, Aug 30, 2016 IP: 46.227.67.167

I just bought a painting at a flea market that I'm curious about. It appears to be Japanese or Chinese but I'm not sure that's the case. It had been professionally framed and I really like the style. Does anyone know what kind of plant it depicts and what the seal means? I've tried to google it but so far no results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not a painting. It's a Japanese woodblock print, titled "Red Amaranth", designed by Kawarazaki Shodo, and published by Unsodo. See the link below for documentation.
