Subject:Need help understanding what is written on that seal
Posted By: Magicsteph Thu, Sep 15, 2016 IP: 76.114.27.190

If anyone can tell me what is written here, it would be very helpful.
This seal is on a back of a replica of a Japanese woodblock print designed by Hokusai from the 100 poets series.
I hope it might tell the name of the printing company, or the date the replica was made ?

The mark reads 試摺 佐藤 (shizuri Sato), a publisher's mark of Satô Shôtarô (佐藤章太郎, Kyoto, c. 1895-1931).
{Andreas Marks mentions c. 1922-25}

Guy.
