I need help identifying this mark on a vase that I bought recently. I appreciate any help!

This is a late 20th century vase, mark of 美術陶器, (Bijyutsu Touki or Bijutsu Toki), meaning "Art Pottery". The country name "JAPAN" appears outside the square field on your vase but is inside it on a similar mark shown by gotheborg.com and another being auctioned at the link below. Can't say if this means yours is newer or older, but I believe it is well established that such marks weren't used before the third quarter of the 20th century.
