Can anyone help with translation and/or artist?
Thanks so much

Hi,
I think you are absolutely correct and I'll tell you why. In a box (same as the other piece) were two additional prints, one of which I figured out. The other is this one.
The former was wrapped in a paper from the Museum. Went to their site and couldn't find anything.
I am going to write them and see if they can help me.
I believe this is only a portion of the original.
Thanks so much.
I'll post if I find more out.

You are correct about this one, it reproduces a section of a longer handscroll also in the NPM. I just found full photos of the original painting. Its title is (宋徽宗)写生翎毛; its description in the Qing imperial collection is here: http://www.cchicc.com/photo.php?id=146326

Don't mistake it for the similarly named ink on paper handscroll; yours is ink and color on silk. But since you say that you rather than I figured out that your other painting is a reproduction of the NPM's Chen Shu picture celebrating the lunar new year, you surely know this and can and find the photos yourself. Hint: they are in 故宫书画图录. Good luck

Subject:Re: Artist Chop Mark Translation - Closer?

Thank you, Ron Mon, I was delighted to find your information posted.
You give me more credit than I deserve :)
The other that I figured out in the box was “"Children at Play on a Winter Day"
This particular one still has me stumped even with all of your information and “hints.”
I have yet to find a full version of this.
While I truly appreciate your link to the book, I can't seem to get to many of the photos in the book.
So, how close am I?

Huizong Sketch Feathers (this is how your title translates) Is it correct?
Ink and color on silk
Qing imperial Collection
National Palace Museum, Taipei, Taiwan

The description translation of original:
Silk vertical cross-eight feet eight inches four eighths inch color

Ron Mon...
I just stopped back in to check for responses and realized that you misread my post. You, not I, figured out the Chen Shu reproduction.
I found "Children at Play on a Winter Day" on my own.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. Do not want you to think otherwise.

not off the top of my head but looks to be another reproduction of probably a Ming painting in the National Palace Museum collection
