Subject:Ist it chinese bitong?
Posted By: Chris J. Mon, Oct 10, 2016 IP: 31.178.2.8 I believe this carved and lacquered wooden pot is a brush pot from mid of 19th century but I wonder why it had the copper insertion. Maybe it had had other purpose. Can somebody read the inscription? The pot is ca. 16,5 cm high. The carving shows a standing men, tiger and Buddhist demon temple guard. It could be from south China. |
