Subject:Japanese Bronze Figure Mark Identity
Posted By: Paul Tue, Nov 01, 2016 IP: 86.131.193.61 Hi all. Hoping you might be able to offer help identifying/ translating Meiji period Japanese bronze mark. I have three, which I'll list separately. This first is a large (440mm) and extremely heavy bronze (almost 6kg) geisha. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration. |

Posted By: Paul Tue, Nov 15, 2016 Thanks again Guy. Might it be Sano Takachika? I managed to find a very similar piece on Christie's website to which I've attached a link. The quality is pretty much identical on close inspection so it looks likely to my lesser-trained eye. Cheers, Paul. |
