Hi all. Hoping you might be able to offer help identifying/ translating Meiji period Japanese bronze mark. I have three, which I'll list separately. This first is a large (440mm) and extremely heavy bronze (almost 6kg) geisha. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration.

The first character is 'Tomi' (富) but the notation of the second character in the mark is a bit a mystery to me.

Sorry, the first character is 'taka' (高), not 'tomi'.

Thanks again Guy. Might it be Sano Takachika? I managed to find a very similar piece on Christie's website to which I've attached a link. The quality is pretty much identical on close inspection so it looks likely to my lesser-trained eye. Cheers, Paul.

No, I don't think so. Sano Takachika's name is spelled in a completely different manner (佐野隆親).

IMO, the most plausible reading should be 'Takabayashi' (高林). I found one other similar bronze figure at Bonhams - without a picture of the signature, but I could have it right.
