Subject:Smuggled Chinese Burial Vase/Urn made of stone?

My father wants me to sell some of his art & one item (a vase or urn) I have no idea how to price so I was hoping you guys might have an idea of its value. He calls it a "burial urn" & said it was smuggled out of China some time after WWII (during the revolution?) and brought to America by a Chinese man who gave it to him as a gift after they became business partners. My dad is not a liar but his memory is starting to fail, so I'm not sure how much of the story is accurate. Any info/help would be greatly appreciated- I can't even tell what it's made of! Thank you
