Subject:Chenghua 1465-1487
Posted By: Kathi Mon, Nov 28, 2016 IP: 184.185.157.77 I have a bowl from my grandma, just wanted to know if it's really from the Ming Dynasty Chenghua 1465-1487 era? I took a picture of the bottom of the bowl. |

There's a Chinese tradition for marking new, well executed porcelain with old emperors marks. It's not meant as trying to make a forgery. The meaning is: "As good as the porcelain made at the time of that emperor". |
